Stand Up Paddle
You will enjoy the clear blue waters of Cabo San Lucas, so beautiful, and the freedom and peace of SUP gliding across the blue waters in no time.
Watch the magnificent sunset from your paddle board as the sun dips into the ocean, splashing color across the sky. Cabo San Lucas is known for its amazing sunsets, so romantic and so atmospheric with the sun seeming to melt into the Pacific. Paddle along the beautiful coastline a fun, and eco-friendly way to explore the pristine coastal waters of Cabo San Lucas.
SUP is a peaceful and relaxing activity, and perfect for just enjoying the marine landscape around you.

Land’s End (El Arco)
Located at the southern end of Cabo San Lucas and sandwiched between Playa del Amor and Playa del Divorcio, these rock formations were created from the rough winds and seas of the southern Baja Peninsula.
Playa del Amor
Lover’s Beach
Located right near the famous Land’s End rock formations, Playa del Amor, or Lover’s Beach, is one of Cabo’s most famous stretches of shoreline.
It’s not exactly an undiscovered secret cove.
Striking rock formations tower above on either side, and if you walk all the way out across the golden sand behind, you hit Divorce Beach.
The Playa del Amor (Love Beach) boasts a stretch of unblemished sand and some impressive rock formations. The beach offers a breathtaking view, with its turquoise water punctuated by looming rock structures such as Pelican Rock and Neptune’s Finger.
The beach faces the Sea of Cortez, which was famously called “the world’s aquarium,” by French explorer Jacques Cousteau. The area surrounding the beach is teeming with marine life and is popular with scuba divers. Surrounded by the calm waters of the Sea of Cortez, swimming and snorkeling are both possible in the area.
Chileno Beach
Calm, shallow waters make it the go-to spot for snorkelers. But the real reason travelers love Chileno’s cream-colored shore.
It was certified a “Blue Flag” beach in 2015 by the Foundation for Environmental Education for its clean water quality.
Surrounded by upscale resorts and homes, Chileno Beach is safe for swimming and offers excellent snorkeling for older children and adults. (The swimming/snorkeling area is roped off from boats.)
Playa Medano
Playa Medano is Cabo’s most crowded beach, with crystal blue waters and plenty of beachside watering holes attracting hordes of sunbathers. In addition to taking it easy with a drink, Playa Medano also offers some active attractions, including beach volleyball, jet skiing, kayaking, boogie boarding and parasailing.
Without doubt Cabo’s most famous beach – and the safest for swimming – Playa Medano is blessed with calm, clear water and stunning views. The beach has designated swimming areas and backs on to a broad selection of hotels, bars and restaurants. Medano (which means “The Dune”) looks out onto the Land’s End rock formations and famous Arch. The gentle surf makes this beach perfect for water sports – boogie boards, kayaks and jet skis are all available to rent.
Not surprisingly, this beach is also the most popular.

Playa Hotelera
This lengthy stretch of powdery sand sits right alongside Cabo’s major hotel strip. The popular public beach is great for families, sandcastles and volleyball. Beach umbrellas are available to rent and ice cold beers are on offer throughout the day. A favorite with both joggers and surf fishers, this is not a beach for swimming. Very high waves are common and the currents in the area are notoriously unpredictable.
Divorce Beach
No one really knows why it’s named Divorce Beach (Playa del Divorcio). The locals joke it’s the rough seas encountered there. Whatever, it contrasts nicely with the calmer waters of Lover’s Beach across the other side of the sand.
A world away from happening Medano Beach, secluded Divorce Beach is ideal for quiet sunbathing and relaxing. Connected to Lover’s Beach, but facing the extremely choppy waters of the Pacific Ocean, Playa del Divorcio (Divorce Beach) is extremely dangerous for swimmers, so don’t risk it. However, the beach is highly recommended for its sunsets, which are truly spectacular.
Playa Solmar
Also located on Cabo’s Pacific side, Playa Solmar is known for its majestic golden stretch of sand. Strong, unpredictable currents mean swimming is not an option. Playa Solmar is semi-private as access is granted via the Solmar Suites Hotel and vendors are not allowed in the area. Although this is in some ways less convenient, it also makes Playa Solmar a great option if you are looking to escape the crowds on the Playa Hotelera during the peak season.
Bring your own lunch and dedicate yourself to the serious business of soaking up the rays.
Santa Maria Beach
Santa Maria Beach is great for snorkeling and you could see whales here too.
As you gaze out to the azure sea you will see the peaceful horseshoe shaped beach with sand the color and consistency of pink rice. Relatively secluded, Bahía Santa María is a protected marine sanctuary, and an excellent spot for snorkeling or just relaxing on the beach. This marine preserve is a prime destination for many charter boats that offer snorkeling and SCUBA diving excursions departing from the Cabo San Lucas harbor. If you want to see a world of friendly colorful tropical fish, this is the place to go. Mornings, when it’s calm, is usually best for optimum underwater visibility. There are no facilities available other than a dirt parking lot and a few beach vendors so bring what you need with you. This is truly one of the most beautiful places in Los Cabos and well worth a visit.
